Why we exist

Runners fail in the same ways everywhere: artwork that is upside down for half the room, hems that curl after ten washes, drops that swing or pool by accident, and display runners that migrate diagonally across a counter by closing time.

None of those are fabric problems. They are specification problems, decided before anything is cut — which is where we do our work.

Read from both seats and the end

A runner lies on the centreline, so a conventional one-way layout faces half the table the wrong way up. We lay artwork out double-ended — mirrored or twinned — so it reads from both sides.

And on display and show tables we design the FRONT DROP first, because that vertical panel at the table’s end is the only part a passing visitor actually looks at. The flat top is the secondary surface, whatever the mockup template implies.

The lay decides the cut

The same table takes a runner three ways: full length with even drops, floating and centred with no drop, or across the width as place runners. Each lay wants a different cut, hem and artwork.

So we ask how the table is laid before we quote a size — and for events, we work from the table plan and return a cut list, not a size-chart guess.

All edge

Nearly everything that separates a good runner from a cheap one happens at the edge: turned hems that stay flat through commercial laundering, mitred corners that sit instead of pouting, weighted drop corners that hang straight, and non-slip backing where the surface is polished.

That edge work is invisible in a product photo and unmistakable on a real table, which is exactly why cheap runners skip it.

Honest about what a runner is

A runner decorates a table; it does not protect one. Heat and spill protection is a different product, and we say so rather than sell decoration described as armour.

And when a brand controls a whole trade-show table, a fitted printed throw carries more branding than any runner — we recommend it even though it is not what this site sells. A runner wins when the table must stay visible, when one piece must fit many tables, or when the kit has to fold small.

Programmes hold the decisions

Venues and event teams should never re-decide runner specs. A programme holds the cut list per table type, the lay per room, the fabric and laundering spec and the colour references.

Reorders match the physical reference, deliveries arrive bundled by table and labelled by room, and the specification outlives the staff who wrote it.
